Designing and Leading a Global Flagship Event
Formerly known as Blockchain Revolution Global, Web3 & Blockchain World (W3B) is a global conference focused on digital assets and digital transformation, co-hosted by the Blockchain Research Institute (BRI) and MCI Group. W3B brings together thousands of participants from across business, government, academia, and the technology sector to explore how Web3 is reshaping economies, institutions, and society.
As Program Director of W3B, I was responsible for the end-to-end design and delivery of the conference program and event experience. This included shaping the strategic direction of the event, curating content, and managing the logistics of hosting a high-profile, international audience. I also supported the rebrand of the event from BRG to W3B, overseeing the shift from a fully virtual experience in 2020 to a hybrid format in 2022.
At the core of my role was program design. I developed the full conference agenda, curated session streams, and managed the speaker pipeline. The latest program featured a distinguished lineup of speakers, including Rob Carter (CIO, FedEx), Anthony Di Iorio (Co-Founder, Ethereum), Charles Hoskinson (Co-Founder, Cardano), alongside executives from IBM, Accenture, EY, Standard Bank, and more.
From the outset, I was intentional about designing a program that elevated perspectives too often left out of conversations about emerging technologies. That commitment came to life through the expertise and lived experiences of the speakers, who demonstrated that diverse voices are vital to unlocking new forms of disruption and value creation. One mainstage session featured a panel of accomplished women driving innovation across sectors, highlighting both the progress achieved and the work still needed to ensure equity in Web3. The Young Innovators session extended this dialogue, placing high school and university students at the center of the conversation, underscoring the importance of empowering the next generation to co-create the systems they will inherit.
A real highlight was the integration of Indigenous perspectives into the program. On the mainstage, Tamara Goddard (CEO of Four Our Future and co-founder of the 400 Drums project) delivered a compelling session on Web3 & Indigenous Economics, accompanied by a live art demonstration by David Fierro (master drum builder, digital artist, and COO of Four Our Future). Together, their work showcased how blockchain and digital platforms can support Indigenous artists, language speakers, and knowledge keepers in sustaining cultural practices and creating new economic opportunities. Their message was deepened in panels on Blockchain for the Creative Industries and Blockchain for Social Impact, where they shared how initiatives like 400 Drums are enabling communities to harness technology for cultural preservation, economic resilience, and intergenerational learning.Â
Beyond programming, my responsibilities for W3B supported business development efforts, helping to shape sponsorship tiers and deliverables; I led speaker engagement, from outreach and preparatory calls through to on-site coordination; and contributed to brand development, including designing the W3B logo, visual identity, and marketing collateral. I also collaborated with the web design team to ensure the W3B website reflected both the conference’s professionalism and its forward-looking ethos.
The impact of W3B was substantial. The conference attracted a truly global audience, drawing leaders and participants from over 30 countries and generating international media coverage. It positioned BRI at the center of global conversations on Web3 and digital transformation, while also fostering cross-industry collaboration and sparking new business opportunities among participants.
For me personally, the experience refined my expertise in event strategy, large-scale program design, and cross-sector stakeholder management, while reinforcing the role of convenings as catalysts for industry-wide innovation. Through W3B, I demonstrated my ability to design and deliver a global conference that combined intellectual rigor with creative engagement, ensuring that participants left not only informed but inspired to act on the transformative potential of Web3.
W3B received multiple awards for the 2022 event, including two MarCom Awards (i.e. a Platinum Award for Outstanding Project Achievement, and a Platinum Award for Outstanding Digital Marketing), and a Gold Prize in the Hermes Creative Awards for Best Strategic Campaign.

Ecosystem Event Management
Beyond W3B, I’ve also curated intimate, high-caliber experiences that fostered dialogue, alignment, and relationship-building within the Web3 ecosystem. These included executive roundtables, strategy workshops, VIP networking sessions, and receptions in iconic venues such as the CN Tower.
Among these, the Digital Assets Roundtable (2022) and the ESG Roundtable (2022) stand out as examples of events designed to convene knowledgeable and purpose-driven individuals for structured dialogue. My role extended beyond logistics and facilitation to include intellectual stewardship: I documented key insights in real time, then synthesized them into post-event reports distributed to attendees. These reports captured the substance of the discussions, framed the outcomes, and provided actionable next steps, ensuring that the value of the conversations extended far beyond the event itself.
I also managed VIP gatherings, including private networking sessions and high-profile receptions such as our CN Tower Reception (2025), co-hosted with The Digital Chamber and Baker McKenzie. For these events, I oversaw the full spectrum of delivery, from curating invitation lists and coordinating with multiple stakeholders and sponsors, to designing signage and collateral, managing registration, and executing the run of show. These occasions were designed not only to offer memorable experiences in prestigious settings but also to strengthen BRI’s ecosystem, deepen relationships among senior leaders, and amplify the institute’s reputation as a trusted convener.
Through these experiences, I developed expertise in balancing operational detail with strategic purpose, ensuring that every event, regardless of scale, advanced BRI’s mission to connect leaders, spark innovation, and shape the future of business and technology.
